Growing treasured garden blooms for flower lovers and event florists
Welcome to The Joy Farmer - I am Sarah, the farmer with a passion for sharing flowers with my local community in Wanaka, New Zealand.
Like many of you, during lock down life, I tried something new and I discovered growing flowers combined my love for business, working with creatives and being in the outdoors. It was meant to fill a short term void, but it has taken on a life of its own.
The Farm
The cutting garden is located on our family’s high country station in Tarras, found at the bottom of the sun drenched Lindis Valley in Central Otago, New Zealand.
The property has been in mother's family for over a century and there is a long history of growing, however it is the first foray into cut flowers that I know of. The flowers and foliage are grown along side beef cattle and merino sheep.
To respect my family's privacy, the cutting patch is not open for visits.
