Seasonal Workshops

Imaging slow sessions surrounded by romantic garden blooms while sipping tea and eating cake with your friends?

I have partnered with fellow grower and local wedding florist Jen from Studio 24 Botanicals (who has over 25 years floristry experience) to offer seasonal group sessions for floral enthusiasts on how to grow or design with seasonal garden flowers.  These sessions will be set dates during the productive months communicated via our socials and newsletters.  Join our mailing lists to be the first to hear about the dates offered.

We are personally inspired by the local seasonal bounty of Central Otago and focus on using sustainable floristry techniques. You will learn to work with garden blooms grown and curated by us from our flower farms.

If you are looking for a bespoke workshop tailored to a particular area of interest for a private group or corporate event please get in touch to find out options.

DIY Wedding Workshops

Are you planning to style your own wedding flowers but not sure where to begin? I specialise in supporting DIY brides with designing their own florals for their big day.

Treat yourself to a one-on-one workshop where you can ask all the questions, form a clear plan for your event, and get hands-on practice in advance. It's a great option, even if you're getting married elsewhere. Alternatively, book a session with me to be on hand while you design your bridal party flowers at the time of your wedding.

During these sessions I will share my personal flower philosophy and informal garden gathered floral style with you, along with tips and tricks I have gathered over the years.

Workshops run for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours and are held at my home studio in Wanaka.

If this sounds like the support you’ve been looking for, I’d love to hear from you so we can plan your perfect session together.

Complete the enquiry form with as much information as possible to tell me about what your prefect workshop would look like. You will receive an email response.

Once the details of your workshop are confirmed,  you are required payment of a non refundable deposit to secure the date.  Payment is by bank deposit.  The payment of this fee means you agree to the terms of service.  The balance for the workshop is payable one week prior to the date of the event. In the event you wish to cancel, your deposit will not be refunded.

Seasonal group workshops require a minimum number of attendees to go ahead.  If the number isn't achieved we may have to cancel.

The Joy Farmer reserves the right to make alterations to the workshop if it deems necessary and will notify you in advance of any major changes.  Flowers used will be selected based on what is seasonal in the garden at the time of the workshop.

Workshops are run from my home in Warren Street found in Central Wanaka unless an alternative venue has been specified and agreed on.
